Dr. Barton Romanek

Barton J. Romanek, MD

Dr. Romanek completed his undergraduate studies in Zoology at the University of Toronto in Canada, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1972. Following that, he completed his Medical Degree at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and his specialty training in family medicine at the McMaster University Medical Center in 1977, becoming board certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He is recognized as a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is a current member in good standing of the Hays, Caldwell, Blanco County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He was named Caldwell County's 2010 Best Physician in the Lockhart Post Register Readers' Choice Awards. Dr. Romanek is also a proud father and grandfather. He and his wife Peggy have resided in Lockhart since 1978 where his practice continues to grow based on the goodwill of present and former patients and his attempt to provide prompt, personal, and quality care.




Dr. Kimberly Wheeler

Kimberly M. Wheeler, MD

Dr. Wheeler joined Lockhart Family Medicine in 2006. She completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Science at Texas A&M University graduating Summa Cum Laude. She then received her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School in San Antonio graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. Dr. Wheeler completed her residency training at Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program in San Antonio and is board certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Medicine. She is an active member of the Hays, Caldwell, Blanco County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She and her husband Russell reside in Lockhart with their two daughters where she desires to grow her practice by providing excellent medical care to the community.





Kari Martin, P.A.-C

Our Physicians' Assistant

Kari L. Martin, P.A.-C

Kari joined Lockhart Family Medicine in 2005. She completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at Texas Tech University. While attending college, she worked in the medical field as a surgical assistant. She then obtained a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She obtained training in all areas of primary care in San Angelo, TX. Kari is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is an active member of the Central Texas Physician Assistant Society, the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Kari desires to provide quality medical care to ensure that the needs of patients at Lockhart Family Medicine are continually met.
